Look for puddles of coolant or white stains, which could indicate a leak. **Inspect for leaks**: Examine the area around the coolant reservoir and the radiator for any signs of leaks. If it is low, you may need to add more coolant.Ģ. Locate the coolant reservoir, usually a translucent plastic container near the radiator, and check if the coolant level is below the recommended mark. **Check the coolant level**: Park your car on a flat surface and allow the engine to cool down before opening the hood. If the coolant warning light is illuminated, it is essential to take immediate action to prevent potential engine damage. The coolant, also known as antifreeze, plays a crucial role in maintaining the engine's temperature and preventing it from overheating. When the coolant warning light is on in your car, it typically indicates that the engine's coolant level is low or there may be an issue with the cooling system. Machine fanatics ask What does it mean when the coolant warning light is on in my car? Always consult with a professional mechanic for a thorough inspection and proper resolution of the issue. Remember, if the coolant warning light stays on, it is crucial not to ignore it and take appropriate action to avoid potential engine damage. Diagnosing and replacing a faulty water pump is necessary to resolve this issue and prevent further damage to the engine. If the water pump fails or becomes faulty, it can result in inadequate circulation of coolant, leading to overheating and the activation of the warning light. The water pump circulates the coolant throughout the engine, maintaining a consistent temperature. Replacing a worn-out thermostat is typically the solution to ensure the efficient operation of the cooling system. If the thermostat becomes stuck in the closed position, it can cause the engine to overheat and trigger the coolant warning light. I honestly dont know any help would be muc appreciated. The thermostat plays a crucial role in regulating the engine's temperature by controlling the flow of coolant. I dont know what can be causing this, maybe too much coolant? even though i only put 800ml. Now keep in mind i have removed the catalizator from the bike but it has never had any problems whatsoever. Then yesterday i rode the bike to training and back with no issues (or maybe i didnt see that it was heating since my gym is 4 minutes away) but today it just overheated within 3 kilometers and i was pretty scared so i was like let me just return home but the bike kept blinking so i stopped and waited for 5-10mins until the bar went down to 5 notches and then i continud but the bike kept reaching the blinking point withi 3 minutes so i had to stop 3 times to let it cool down for a 3km ride.ĭuring the summer the bike would sometimes reach maybe 6 notches in heavy traffic and hot weather nut never above that or anything concerning. So i did, i flushed and changed the coolant, i flushed the radiator with distilled water until it was clear, made sure to dry it thouroughly and then filled it up wiht Wurth coolant. I researched and i thought let me change the coolant since i know dukes have a problem with overheating. Ok so i was just cruising two weeks ago when i stopped and noticed that my leg was sprinkled by coolant, i looked around to find the leak and i also found that one of the radiator metal covers that go around the edges was broken and just hanging on (explaning the ticking noise i thought i was hearing), this was really bothering and i just returned home. Hello friends, i ride a duke 390 2021 and i bought it brand new, the bike only has 4,700km.
